Intersectional or Itoh Hybrids
Intersectional Hybrids shows characteristics that are intermediate between the two parents: the aerial part dries up in autumn like with herbaceous peonies, but the branched stems, the leaves and flowers are similar to tree peonies.
These new crossbreeds, also called “Itoh hybrids” are still rather rare, but their beauty and rustic character predict great success. Intersectional Hybrids are very vigorous and pest resistant, their growth rate is very rapid and in two years they are well developed plants.
Intersectionals keep their leaves green for more time than any other peony and their blooming period is very long.
The care for intersectionals are the same of herbaceous peonies.
